Discover the beauty and depth of the Orthodox Church in the Vicariate of Saint Paulinus. As a dedicated community of believers, we are committed to upholding the rich traditions and teachings of our faith. Our website serves as a valuable resource for both newcomers and long-time Christians alike. Through our articles, sermons, and educational materials, we explore the theology, spirituality, and liturgical practices that define western-rite Orthodox Christianity. Whether you are seeking answers to your spiritual questions or looking to deepen your connection with God, we invite you to join us on this journey of faith.
We are part of the Orthodox Church of France, “Orthodox” in the sense of being part of the great Orthodox Church, however, specifically English (here in England) using traditional English forms of worship. We hold to the entire teachings of the worldwide Orthodox Church without any deletions or additions. The Orthodox Church throughout the world is overwhelmingly Byzantine in its worship. But it holds within itself several groupings of Western Rite parishes, but not until recently in this country. So we have set up the Vicariate of Saint Paulinus (like a deanery) and use the Divine Liturgy of Saint Germain of Paris, which is used in the Orthodox Church of France, and other parts of the world, in their local language. We also when required use the much longer Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom, and the Liturgy of Saint Basil (in English).
